Climbing out of a Rut - Day 5
Thursday, November 14, 2013
I haven't been given my "new thing to try" yet for today. But I can say that I'm still making the effort. And by taking this challenge (30 days into skinny jeans) I'm learning a lot about what I'm doing and willing to do.
Yesterday I added more intensity to a 3rd workout of the day. That's not as dramatic as it sounds!
I spent 30 minutes climbing small but steep hills in my neighborhood for a lunch break. At the top of each climb my pulse was where I wanted it to be - over 120bpm. Then it would settle down as I went back down that same hill. So I was doing intervals and that's a good thing (and new to my regular work outs).
The new exercises are really a challenge. I put off one set until right before I went to bed the other night. I said I'd do them at 4PM but got distracted. Then I said I'd do them while dinner was in the oven, but forgot about that. I knew if I skipped them for the day I was really weakening my new program so there I was at 10:30PM on my living room floor cranking out half of the exercises. Yes, I had to bribe myself by saying "if you do half of the reps suggested it counts". And they were hard!!!!
Well, I'm off to check on what I'm supposed to try today. Wish me perseverance, luck & focus!
Oh, I'm tracking my daily calorie deficit this week. Here I am so far:
I'm on track, yes!
