Devotional thought: I was new in my faith many years ago as I sit in a new church far from home. They did something that shocked me. They were taking communion while sitting in the pew. (In my home Church unless you where ill or unable to be on the knees, communion was always given to one on their knees.) I was shocked and prayed to the Lord. "Lord this is a abomination." His small still voice came powerful to my Spirit and I knew the answer was from Him. "Child it is not the position of the body but of the heart" I Jenny712 has never been the same. I have looked at things differently. I am His clay and He my potter. I am glad to be on His potters wheel.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

"It is not the body's posture, but the heart's attitude that counts when we pray." Billy Graham

Psalms 100
1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. K.J.V. in Public domain

That is so important to remember. It is the position of the heart that the Lord sees. Only He can see that.

It is strange the way different cultures celebrate the Lord - but the important part is that they Do praise him. I enjoyed your post. Happy Friday! emoticon emoticon

Yes it can be shocking when you are taught one way and then find things are done another way.

Yes, our heart attitude most decidedly determines our relationship to God!
