Day 139: Getting Involved

A quick blog for this Thursday seems to be in order!

I spent over an hour at the gym yesterday evening. At first, I was feeling timid like I usually do. Then, I got into my routine and blocked out the other person who was working out there. I think that I often find myself intimidated by other people because they always seem to know what they're doing, and then there's little ole me, huffing and puffing on the treadmill. Well, with creating my own speed intervals, I ended up exceeding my 2 miles and with cooldown, I ended at 2.6 miles. I think I'm going to try and shoot for 3 next week, even if that means I end up walking parts of it. I want to try and get into a regular running routine. Guess I need to start looking at gym memberships for home super soon! After my cooldown, I pulled out my sheets from SparkPeople that provides a routine for strengthening various parts of the body. I did some runner lunges, squats, my first plank in forever (ahh!) and moves on the floor consisting of crunches, push-ups, and other different things. It felt good to finally stretch and I was proud of myself for pushing all the way through and not quitting when my mind told me to.

Today I weighed in at 231 - what I hope to see on the scale come Monday when my official weigh-in day is.. Just need to stay focused this weekend and actually incorporate fitness into my weekend!

    Planks are HARD! Good for you girl! KEEP IT UP! I don't know if you have kids or a husband or anything but going out bowling or swimming or lazer tagging is a good way to have a great time without feeling like you are working out :) Gather the girlfriends you have for a zumba class maybe :) Sounds like you deserve fitness that is disguised by fun! (my husband love it when I suggest lazer tag to him, LOL)
