Hoping and Praying

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

I see this on many people's pages. I also don't see much progress on most of those people's pages.

One can not just wish for something to happen, they need to work for it. Yes, it's helpful to have a little help to get to where you want to go, but you need to find the resources to guide you along. Then you need to work toward those goals. Whether it be weight loss, a marathon or a bigger paycheck, they all have the same thing in common, work.

If you put the work off to another person, then nothing will improve in your life. The person who sits around and hopes is the person who will never see that miracle happen. No work toward a goal = your goal sitting as far away as when you started.

Don't sit and pout about goals that haven't gotten closer. If you haven't done your best to gain your goal, you'll never get there.

Go out and do it! No one else can do it for you!

    Good blog!
There is way too much victim mentality among people.
In the olden days they used to say, "God helps those who help themselves!"
As one Spark blogger says, "Push that Tush!"

Even though I don't have encouragement at home, I know I have to do the things I need to do to slim down. I am slow going as I seem to have a lot of issues in my mind about food I need to deal with. I can remember being hungry every night of my childhood, and though that is not an issue now, it seems to haunt me. Interesting what redoing our food can do about bringing back memories.

For myself I would rather be working toward my goals and make slow progress than to sit back and complain. not much is happening. As far as I'm concerned if I eat healthy and get exercise in I am much further ahead than when I started. Yes, losing the weight is fine but other factors enter the picture for some to make it look like nothing is being done. I know I to have many spark friends that have fallen by the wayside after being on for not much time. Never give up, climb that mountain the best you can each day, it isn't going anywhere so may as well keep the journey we starteed going.

Thanks for the reminder. It's much easier to say I'll start tomorrow instead of starting today. Have a great day. emoticon

AMEN! There is a person I know who thinks he's working his hardest to improve our situation, but he's not doing much and not making any real strides to increase his education and doesn't even know which way to go. I'm "hoping and praying" that he gets it soon, that in order for things to change, YES, there is work to be done and it's not all going to be comfortable and fun.

Thank you for this post! It's soooo true! emoticon emoticon

The word hope is rarely used in my life; it is too passive. So I get what you are saying here. Have a wonderful day.
