Walking at the Seashore

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

I am walking by the sea, and this is the 5th day in a row. It really is lovely to take in the shoreline, the sand, and watching the waves crash. So cold, and it snowed today too, but just barely. Wind, was gusting, and I really froze, but it was all worth it. Driving home, red skies, such a magnificent sunset.
Next daily event, adding Food Tracking, here on Spark, and in a Fitness/Food Journal. Everything written about Food Journaling, says it works. Needs to be done. So I will start tomorrow. Blogging, I need to do this too. Short and sweet. But just checking in, and being accountable.

Sounds like a lovely walk! I have found that tracking is the best way to go. I have done it two different ways. The way I track now is that I just write the food down that I eat. The other way that I have been able to track with less time is to plan out an exact menu. I would type out my menu and as long as I would stick to it I didn't have to write anything down- just check it off. That worked well and was easy as long as I stuck to a specific food. I have thought of doing so again.

I have been a faithful food tracker for 3 years & can tell you without a shadow of a doubt....IT WORKS...when I have travelled or strayed for any short period, the pounds started to creep back on. I ate nothing out of the ordinary, just the portions weren't accurate.

I lost all the weight I wanted to & have maintained it for approx. 1 1/2 years now...but always with preplanning & tracking. Yes, you can change a food choice & track it....after all, menus aren't made in stone...

There is also another benefit...it helps in your grocery list making, & an unbelievable SAVINGS in grocery bills. (not to mention the fact that sparks helps you calculate your nutrient consumption of your food choices)
so you are not only accounting for what you are eating but also have better accounting of good food choices too! Can't you tell, I am an avid supporter!

As for walking on the beach, I also adore these walks, but the beach needs to be WARM....heading to Asia in January....for those HOT WALKS....can't wait!

I would love to be able to walk by the sea daily as I love the water and waves. I find that although food tracking is time consuming, it always works for me. I lose weight when I track. Good luck!

I love being by the sea. I'm lucky to be in Florida for the month, and I go to the beach to walk every day. I can't really do that in Connecticut, as most beaches are private. So I'm taking full advantage right now.

Food tracking is annoying until you get a good database of favorites. But it's definitely worth it!
