The sun came out today. I wanted to FEEL the sunshine on me but I went into the shaded forest because I couldn't stand the thought of pavement. It was beautiful and a little brighter and dryer than normal.
*65 minutes of run/walk time (I stop my app when I stop for pics)
*Run time at least half of the total
*Was the only car when I arrived and the trails felt creepy for a while and then very peaceful
Had the bejeezus scared out of me after I'd settled in to having the trails to myself and rounded a corner almost in to a guy, a girl and two dogs
*Met and snuggled a 3 month old Bernese Mt. Dog named Teddy. The softest and most adorable fur-ball I've seen in a long time
*Lots and lots of mushrooms - I need to get a field guide or something. I'm so fascinated. (I tried to photograph more than seen here but low light and a bad phone-camera doesn't create very good close-shots)
*Mud puddles but better than normal - at least the bad sections were completely manageable
*Trail running shoes officially christened IN the mud - now I don't have to dance around mud trying to keep them clean.
*Ran all the way up a lot of hills. Ran all the way down a lot of steep and slippery hills (not all but getting more sure-footed).
If only the picture showed just how steep this section is:
Finally - I should have taken my allergy medicine before the hike (mold is one of my primary problems). LOL!
