Day 225 - The Moving Wall and Healing Flags

Monday, November 11, 2013

Several miles from my home, the local high school is sponsoring the Healing Flags and the Moving Wall in honor and in memory of those young soldiers who have given their lives for our freedom. emoticon

I took this photo on the bleachers during the open ceremonies. There were airplanes that did the fly by formation and singing. This is the view of the 2013 healing flags where people can dedicate a flag to those who served and those who have passed away during their service.

Close up view of the flags. It was such a magnificent sight to see all those flags!

The Moving Wall. It was so sad to view all the names on the wall. Nearby was a person sitting in a gazebo just reading off the names of the people on the Moving Wall.

A very proud mama (me!!!) with her son Aaron who just stepped off the bus, home from Afghanistan. It was very early morning, cold and rainy. I look a mess since I didn't sleep well in the final week of his serving in Afghanistan.

I am very proud to be an American and to those who served. They all gave some, but some gave all!

God Bless America!!! emoticon

We were at a function at East Aurora High School that day and passed this. The flags were such a moving sight! I've never seen anything like it.
