My Dad served in the Army as a Lieutenant. My older brother Tom retired from the Air Force last year, at the rank of Colonel. He went to the Air Force Academy and then went on to become a fighter pilot. Both my Uncles Ed and William were Lieutenants. I was also served in the Navy. Today I am grateful for all those who served and continue to serve this free country!

I only saw my Dad cry one time in his life. We were watching late night TV and back then when the shows for the night the station would play the National Anthem. That is the time I saw my Dad in tears.

He passed away from cancer 24 years ago. I remember him today.

Thanks for your your Dad's and your other relatives service. They should never be forgotten. My Dad could never talk about his World War II times, his eyes would well up with tears. I remember him so fondly after all these years. Isn't it funny - he passed away at age 69 from a medical misdiagnosis. Had he lived he would have been 96 this year. Odd... 69...96. Have a wonderful, blessed Tuesday, Steve.
