Dilemma Update

In my previous blog post I talked about my dilemma in advancing my 10 minutes a day streak in some way: do I simply extend my gazelle time or add on something new for 10 minutes?

Many suggestions of switching up the two, alternating them was good but that doesn't increase my time - which is MY goal. emoticon

I hadn't thought about how the timing of doing the wall slides could affect my time on the gazelle. Great point! So I won't be doing them back to back. emoticon

I do want to keep doing the gazelle daily. It's very helpful in keeping my larger joints moving safely.

I need to do some wall slides - per my physical therapists & doctors - to strengthen my legs and improve stability in my knee joints. Today I can only do this for about 2 minutes before I'm feeling too much stress & pain in my legs.

So my answer to this dilemma is to build upon my current gazelle time now, add on 10 minutes there. It will be a challenge to do 20 minutes in one session today - 15 is completely doable so I'm starting there and pushing for 1 more every couple of days. Until I can actually do 20 minutes in one session I am going to get on the gazelle two times during the day for 10 minutes minimum. The first session is where I will work on increasing the time. The second session will be early enough to not affect my sleep.

Meanwhile, I will do some wall slides at least 3 times a week with the goal of getting to 10 minute sessions. When I get to that point I will consider adding it into a daily routine.

    Good for you. It's amazing how much harder it is to add 10 minutes all at once, isn't it? I agree on the wall slides - not much fun but really important to do.

    The key is adding what works for you. I think your an adequate job slowing adding onto the amount of exercise time your doing. Best of luck with this journey.

    Good for you finding what works for you and doing that. We all have different body strengths and weaknesses and need to take care of ourselves WHILE doing healthy exercises.
