Veterans Day

Monday, November 11, 2013

Today I think of family that have served or are serving in the military. I am proud to be and American and give Thanks for the American men and women who served. Until last year we spent Veterans day at the Veterans home with Luke's father who would wear his dress uniform for the festivities. I think of the men who will be honored this year with pride and sorrow that Luke's and My Dad can't be with them for us to celebrate. As a child in PA, we always celebrated this day as well and I have very happy memories of the family days at the local VFW. So today I am feeling both sorrow and pride that make this day an important one to set aside times for thanks.

On a personal note, my hernia continues to be very sensitive and feels tighter pressing against my outside skin. It certainly has grown over the past several months and looks like a third boob but has now elongated either in another hernia or the same hernia from below my rib cage to my belly button area. The hole he said was at least the size of a silver dollar that my intestines are busting through. Glad this will be taken care of soon. No decision on the tummy tuck topic, I am getting 10,000 steps but begrudging having to go down and walk at the end of the day but doing it. I have only had one run workout last week and plan to do one today. I am holding at 100 lbs weight loss which is GREAT!

Day 11: Today I am thankful for the military and veterans, the men and women who serve our country. I am proud to have a father, a brother, and a father in law, who are all veterans. Also a nephew who is career military serving in the US at this time. God Bless all the men and women serving both here and abroad. I pray for this country which feels as though it is self destructing . Lord help us I cry as I do not know the right thing to ask for.
