Great weekend with the pony

Sunday, November 10, 2013

So Diamond went out to the pasture to grow up a little more for a couple of months. I spent this weekend working with Cochise. We're going to try and hit up the Versatility show in January it looks like this one may have a novice walk trot class. This weekend pony and I worked on patterns and got an extra hour of riding time in total. The barn owner/trainer helped and we've determined that he's dropping his shoulder to the left even at the trot. Needless to say we have to fix this and get it solid before going back to loping again.

Overall great weekend, lots of pony time and wonderful weather.

Good luck with the training. My daughter has been having trouble with her horse doing flying lead changes on the rail when he isn't suppose to.

Sounds like you got a lot of riding in! I have missed hearing from you lately! Since I talked to you last, I have given up my Lexi to a 20 year old girl whose lifetime dream was to own her own horse. Now, she has Lexi and has the time and patience (and energy) to work with her! Just today, I was given a very well broke 6 yr. old QH gelding by a friend of ours who couldn't afford to pay his board any more. I have ridden him at the shows for her to warm him up and he can be ridden bridleless with just a rein around his neck. Besides being so well broke, I like him because he is only about 14 hands high, if that! Just my size! We also just sold our house and are moving out west of Stephenville, to our land in DeLeon. So exciting! emoticon
