So... I was dreading my workouts. I hated following the meal plan. And I gave it six weeks. I initially lost a bit of fat, maybe (or bloat?) but after that - I just didn't want to do it anymore. It was making me crazy.
And so my update for d2s - I'm quitting. I got 6 weeks in and decided it wasn't for me.
What I hated most was that I missed the barbell. I did like that I could work out at home but it turns out I lost strength that I had from New Rules for Women.
So instead I'm going to try Stronglifts 5x5. It is all barbell. Five sets of 5 reps. No hopping around from one machine to the other. You do 5x5 squats, 5x5 bench press, etc... except only 1 set of deadlifts (plus warm-up). It has a clear progression, and is all my favorite work. I am not fan of accessory exercises. So I think this will be a good match for me, at least at this point of my life.
And by the way, I think I gained some fat. I have been eating more crap than necessary. Today I went through the cupboards and did some rearranging (i.e., made the fruit snacks harder to reach). I need to get this under control.
I am tracking in My Fitness Pal. I like SP, and miss being here all the time. But I am not paying $4 to track my food on my phone. MFP is free, has a bigger database, and is more convenient and easy to use.
