Traveling and loosing weight - it can be done

Sunday, November 10, 2013

We have been on a 3 week tour of Prague, Budapest and Berlin. Now we are living in Paris until January 2014. So far I have lost 5 pounds. It has not been easy but I am doing it. I am going to continue on this journey and get rid of some of this excess baggage! I want my real baggage to carry smaller clothes home - along with some special souvenirs. Those special souvenirs will not be more weight. emoticon It is so hard to look at all the pastries, candy, macaroons and other tasty sweets as we walk the streets of Paris. So far I have given in to one apple tart (it is fruit) and one pudding. Not too bad I guess. Because we are living in an apartment it is easier to cook some healthy meals. Wish me luck!

OMG, I am soooo jealous! You must blog more about your trip. Why will you be in Paris until January? Are you simply seeing the sights? My husband and I want to travel around Europe for a year, starting next year, but it seems so overwhelming. We don't know where to begin.

You are doing a GREAT JOB on losing.

It would be a snap for me to lose over there,I hate French food, and I am French!! If I was in Italy or Greece, then I would need a muzzle, but every other country has no appeal food-wise for me.

Congratulations on doing so well on your trip so far. I'm getting ready for a trip and I've been talking a lot with my nutritionist and my doc. What they suggested to me is that if you are going to have a day where you think you are going to go over on calories, have that also be a day with a lot of exercise. They also recommended making it a "maintenance day" If you can't keep the calories in your weight loss zone, keep them low enough not to gain. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
