Just reading about impulsive eating and remembered that sometimes I am apprehensive when ordering food or preparing a meal about not being satisfied when finished. As a result I order or prepare way too much. I also note that fast food orders or prepared portions are increasing in size over time. An addictions situation would suggest it may be taking more to satisfy me. It is also getting to the point where I eat so much I am uncomfortable. There is also a theory that gorging lessens the body's ability to experience fullness.
This eating habit could also be an attempt to increase/prolong the pleasure of eating. I tend to think the latter explanation is the more likely as I certainly enjoy the pleasure of eating. Immediate reward comes into to play here as well. Emotional eating, especially from boredom enhances my desire to experience pleasure.
I have sometimes wondered about finding more things to increase the number of pleasure experiences I have. Would my seeking pleasure from eating be more controllable if i had a more satisfying life? Apart from the eating aspect I certainly could use more enjoyable things in my life.
So many things to consider!
