Mineola Nature Preserve

The walk was supposed to be a 10K but we got a little lost so I'm only taking credit for 8K. I know we missed one loop at least. The woods in East Texas were beautiful.

They told us they had a feral hog problem. We saw signs of them rooting along the trail but didn't see any actual hogs.

I liked this landscape picture. I thought there was a small cemetery but it turns out they had fenced in a spring to keep people away.

We took a picnic lunch and ate there after the walk. The start overlooked this lake where we say horseback riders.

That is one of the things I have missed since moving to Texas. I have no clue where all the natural trails are. The kids miss the mountains of Colorado and the copious amounts of natural trails in Illinois. Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures and for the new trails to take.

Way to go! 8 kilometers is still an awesome walk. emoticon

I sympathize with the missed loop...been there, done that. In parks and wilderness areas it is easy to lose the trail. Looks like a beautiful place to walk
