Don't let the evening wreck a whole day of good choices!

Saturday, November 09, 2013

A link to the whole article is at the end of this blog.

The SP article suggests activities like these in the evenings to keep us moving ans away from the kitchen. Good luck, Chris emoticon

Plan activities to do throughout the evening, but don't make food a part of the activity:
Take a bath
Walk the dog
Pay bills; balance the checkbook
Play board games with the kids
Call a friend
Keep your hands busy (polish the silver, sew, knit, or do any craft)
Play basketball, baseball, soccer
Read a book or magazine
Try a relaxing fitness video such as yoga or tai chi. www.sparkpeople.com/mysp

I really struggle with being on plan all day and then overeating at night. Thanks so much for the suggestions! One thing that I enjoy (but don't think of often enough) is coloring. My parents bought me a coloring book of different fashions throughout the different ages (very detailed...not a kid's coloring book). It's very relaxing to me to color in it.

Thanks for the pocket list. I,d like to share a tip.
Eat only the right portions of everything a Diabetic needs for a meal.Choose low fat meats, lots of veggies or a salad whole wheat breads and pasta.Wine spritzer with diet sprite, less sugar and carbs. Have one large slice loaded pizza fill up on large salad, lemon water. No breaded meats, baked not fried.fries or bun not both. Eat proper portions, see Dietitian free with AHC card, ask Dr to refer.Take leftovers home for another day, helps not pack on extra fat or carbs. I am trying low Carb Recipies to Cook,i will share latter. Hope everyone enjoys mthis advice. Again thankds for the chart. :) savam630 emoticon

I usually do fine during the day but struggle at night. I have noticed if I am busy doing something then I am not thinking about food. Great blog.

Good advice. You could add making a cup of tea or hot broth. Sometimes when you think you want food, all you're looking for is oral stimulation or something to taste.
