Back Shopping - Yuck.

Saturday, November 09, 2013

I get off work most days around 12:30 in the afternoon. That schedule allows me plenty of daylight hours to get in exercise. But yesterday I elected to take my afternoon and go shopping for some new pants. People have been making comments about my floppy pants at school and my DD took most of my knit pants away from me because "I shouldn't be seen in public in them." So I spent yesterday afternoon, 3 hours, looking for some dress pants. The only thing I found was another pair of jeans. I would have even settled for some black jeans, but nope. 3 hours. I was wasted when I got home and very disappointed in my choices. In one store I asked about 'short' pants and was told that they were only available in sizes up to 14. Really? Heavy people are magically taller. It just goes with how tops for us bigger gals have these gargantuan sleeves, like our arms are extra long or something.

But I digress. I'm getting ready to go back out shopping again today. Not that I want to but I really, really could use a couple more pairs of pants. Maybe something in black or a nice pair of chinos. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

It is now 7:30 in the evening. I shopped until I wanted to drop. 6,000 steps of shopping with my oldest daughter. And I found clothes! Lovely sweaters, Two pair of dress pants, and an awesome pair of cuff boots. And everything was on sale, even better! We ate out and I had a fabulous turkey wrap and some steamed veggies. Got a couple of Christmas gifts too. Today was a good day and I don't mind shopping so much anymore. Whew.

I'm glad you found some clothes. And I want to thank you for continuing to drop by my blog with your encouraging comments. I will try to remember to visit yours, too. (I like to use my friend feed for that, though, so sometimes I forget to visit people who don't show up in it.)

You'll find something. It may take some time, but you'll succeed.

I also hate clothes shopping.

It is difficult shopping for pants. I am taller but many of the pants are WAY too long, like they are designed for women who wear 6 inch heels with jeans!

If you do find a pair of pants you like stop shopping and go home. You can most likely buy additioanl pairs from the same store's website, or from another online seller.

I have the same problem, I'm only 5'2" and even though I can shorten pants or jeans for myself they still look goofy because the proportions are wrong and the legs are usually too wide.

BUT! REJOICE! what could be better than getting rid of clothes you've shrunk out of? I tossed 3 nightgowns in the trash today! Whoo hoo! they were uncomfortably baggy and too worn out to donate.

I think you should shop here and I should shop there. All I can ever find are petite jeans and blouses. I always joke that they forget about us taller larger built women because the fabric costs to much to make pant legs come past my ankles and sleeves past my elbows!
