Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!
As you know, my hubby and I have been only weighing in monthly and that's been working great but it gets a little too long to wait and makes me anxious.
Yesterday, we both discussed that we are going to start doing weekly weigh in's. Every Saturday morning.
We both agreed that this would be very beneficial because then we would see what we needed to work on each week. It would show us if we needed to change any eating habits or add exercise.
Well, this morning was our first morning weekly weigh in. We had our monthly just last week already. Well, I went from 192 to 193. I gained one pound.
However, this gives me the chance to really look back on my week and see what probably caused that weight gain. At first I just wanted to blame the scale and say that we needed to buy a new one because it wasn't working. Haha.
Well, my hubby and I both use the sparkpeople tracking app for our iphones daily and have our daily calorie limit that Sparkpeople set up for us according to our weight loss goal.
Well, anywho, I looked back on last week and noticed that I had not been tracking everything that I was putting into my mouth. I would forget to track dinner on some days because I always knew that I had the calories to eat it. However, I NEED to get in the habit of tracking EVERY single thing that goes into my mouth.
The things I did track were not so good....I did have some skittles and chocolate on Tuesday at work. Also, I went out with a friend on Thursday night to have a margarita. But, I tried to incorporate that into my calories that day and thought that all was well.
Honestly, maybe because I was used to weighing in monthly, I was not worrying about my calories because I had a month to go until weigh in. That's why weighing in weekly is going to help out a great deal! Woot woot!
My hubby did an awesome job. He lost 4 pounds in a week! But, he also has been going out to run for the first time since our 5k in September. We are getting back into running again. Even in the cold. I am a HUGE freeze baby so I'm not so thrilled about running in the cold, but we have done it before and have the winter running gear, so it'll be okay. On one of the mornings he went out to run, I got dressed, got outside and realized it was incredibly icy and was too scared to continue so I went back inside. However, I did run for the first time sinced our 5k yesterday morning....only went 2 miles but that's better than nothing right?
Well, anywho, this week I am going to buckle down and track everything into my app and get more exercise.
Today, we are going out for lunch with a few friends at a pizza restaurant.
So, since knowing that it's going to be probably high in calories, I only had a piece of 45 calorie toast for breakfast instead of my usual 2 pieces. Like I said, I'm buckling down this week baby!
Wish me luck with running out in the cold on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays. Brrrr!
