This AM, I stepped on the scale- post-vacay weigh in. Ouchie. I am up 4 lbs. :( Hopefully some of that is water weight, because lord knows I ate alot of sodium.... amongst many other things. But now to move forward.
I have dusted off the stationary bike. On the drive back from my vacation, I had a marvelous idea! Usually I watch TV while riding the stationary bike (and by usually, i mean usually never). I used to bribe myself with TV to get off my lazy butt, but then I feel guilty about how not-productive I'm being- not that I'm being super productive when I'm not exercising, but you know it's all mind-games.
So, my great idea was to use the study flashcards for the pediatrics boards (that i will need to take in a little less than a year from now) while riding the bike- that way it kills the excuse that i need to study or be productive in some other way. Plus I get smarter. Win win.
Went to the grocery store and bought the ingredients for the potato soup that I will make in the slow cooker tomorrow- or maybe starting tonight- I need to think about how to work out the timing for it to be done before I go to work tomorrow afternoon. It was so hard to pass through the bakery/fresh artisan bread section of the grocery store this AM- smelled soooo good. But I'm gonna do better.
My husband will also make healthy pizza (from the America's Test Kitchen Healthy family cookbook tomorrow as well. So there will be plenty of good food for this week. So no excuses there!
Today will be spent with my husband's family! There's a bday party at a bounce house place for our niece and nephew today... so there should be opportunity to be active. And for now, I will also get on that bike and put these plans into motion.
