Now physical therapy on me.

Thursday, November 07, 2013

Monday I hand A PT evaluation of my right hand which got injured in a wreck 8 weeks ago and had out of a cast for 2 weeks. I had a fracture of one off the metacarpal bones. Several of my fingers didn't want to work just right. I did learn some exercises to do besides what I had been doing on my own. Yesterday I had over an hour of therapy of moving each joint in my fingers alone and then adding one at a time together with a second joint and then a 3rd join and also exercises of the wrist. I started with 12 minutes of my hand and wrist in paraffin for 12 minutes and then at the end 10 minutes with a cold pack. I don't do well with cold on my hands in cold weather. Now I have a thumb wrist splint to wear when I am doing stuff.

I really want to get back to other exercises, espically when my husband graduates from home health physical therapy.

When we are in perfect health, these things don't cross our minds. But when something goes wrong, we have to marvel on how the body works. HUGS!
