HELP: Need a Supplement List

Thursday, November 07, 2013

I am trying to figure out what supplements I should take. Something that will help with osteoarthritis in my knees & back, and will not cause my heartburn to act-up.
My brother has already told me that he takes fish oil pills for the arthritis in his hips, and I see him often to realize it must work, so I will be buying that.

*just remembered that my brother also has a huge bottle of Glucosamine & Chondroitin also....yes, u can learn stuff from a younger sibling*

If anyone else takes other supplements, please let me know what & why.

Glucosamine either works... or doesn't. It did not help me. I take celebrex and originally I had pills for my stomach as well but I don't use them any more. The BIGGEST thing for my knee and back pain is walking in the water, doing crossovers (grapevine), walking backwards and forwards. It has strengthened my legs and core so much that as long as I get ten minutes in every few days I feel great.

My husband doesn't take supplements for his arthritis, but he has gone gluten free and that has helped the pain a lot. I know it isn't for everyone, but it works for some.

Go for a physical and ask your doc. He'll look at the results of your blood tests, and give you advice specific to you.

I would ask your doctor. Mine says multivitamins just make "expensive pee". I take iron, calcium and vitamin D to ward off osteoporosis, and Fish oil. I have heard that glucosamine is good for joints and arthritis.

Good luck!!

Dr Josh Axe is awesome. His website is www.draxe.com . He also has podcasts on itunes and he is on Facebook. He does answer people's questions about their health concerns.
