Blog Challenge- Day 8

8. Have you ever worked with a physical trainer? One on one? Small group? What skills or talents did the trainer have that helped you? What didn't help?

I worked with a trainer one on one when I started at the gym. He showed me how to use the weight machines and helped set up a workout plan for me, then set me free. He was very patient and demonstrated everything before asking me to do it, so I knew what it was supposed to look like. I would like to rejoin the gym and work with him again on an updated workout plan, but finances are tight, so I will just keep doing what I am doing. I am successfully maintaining weight, but I don't think I am gaining much strength right now.

Had a lunch meeting today out of town. They served us leftover turkey dinner from last night. It was pretty tasty. I love a traditional turkey dinner. I did stop myself from adding gravy to everything, and restrained myself on dessert. I also had time for a better breakfast this morning and had some oatmeal with my banana. The weather is crappy today... a rain/snow mix. That means Cooper doesn't want to walk much, so I spent a few minutes on the elliptical and some on the rower, in addition to a little yoga.

I am trying to decide what to make for dinner. I am thinking roasted vegetables would be good, but I am low on protein so far today, so I need to consider adding some protein to the mix. I have chicken in the freezer I could cook. Hmmmm...

I did work with 3 different trainers one on one at different times at different gyms I belonged to. I found them very helpful in using the equipment correctly, setting up routines and revising them at different times, and helping to challenge me. The best trainer was the one who didnít talk about his personal life but focused on the exercises I needed to do and was watchful when starting a new routine with me or upping the intensity. I learned a lot from him and was sorry when I changed jobs and changed to another gym. Right now I am just not able to commit the money to go to a gym and definitely not for a trainer.

Maybe one day I'll work with a personal trainer. Not now, I can't afford it.

I love turkey dinner. Like Linda, I think the stuffing is the hardest part to resist.

The cold wet weather is making its way here. Yesterday and this morning were really nice and warm. A sweater was enough. Now it's just plain old cold. And it's raining. Blech.

Way to go resisting temptation!! Turkey everything appeals to me, but the gravy isn't what I have to watch out for its the stuffing! I can go way overboard with that stuff!!
I love roasted veggies, especially root ones :)
I hope your weather gets more reasonable soon so you can get Cooper out for some good exercise! We have been fortunate (?) none of our dogs ever cared about the weather, they just wanted O.U.T. !! It actually forced us to go out in all kinds of wicked weather no one would be caught dead in :P.
