Well! It's hard for me to believe it's been so long since my last update! Time has really flown for me.
The trip to Austin went well and was a welcome break, although I didn't do well on food at all. I ate what I imagine to be moderately at all my favorite places (instead of getting a whole short stack of Kerbey Lane's pumpkin pie pancakes, I split a single one with my friend), but I didn't bother to count and know I wasn't anywhere below maintenance range.
Unfortunately after returning from that little vacation, I found myself highly frustrated and exasperated with work and other things in life that seemed to bog me down. That lead me to ending October on a seriously bad note, outright over eating and feeling bad about myself. There was a whole day where I didn't even bother to drink water! Gross.
But now it's a new work week, a new month, and I'm already feeling a bit better and more like myself, so that's good. This week I haven't really been tracking my food (way too busy), but I think I'm doing well, sticking to old favorites like Chipotle and protein shakes... sometimes eating a bit when I get home. I know I'm ending up between 1300-1800, so I'm not going to complain too much. Yesterday was about 1455, so yay! Finally feeling like I'm getting back on track food wise.
This work week has been crazy but in a good way. The past two days both the original supervisors for my shift have been out, so I stepped up and was the supervisor for those nights. considering they split all the work servers and everything is all jumbled on top of new trainees coming to my shift on Monday, I feel like I handled the situation pretty darn well. I made sure my shift didn't get behind and even managed to get some extra work done for the shift after mine, and a few people went out of their way to tell me I was doing a great job, so that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
And on top of that, this week and last week has been approved for UNLIMITED OVERTIME. In the year I've been working for this company overtime has been approved only once or twice, and that was in chunks no longer than a few hours for five people or less. This is a serious free for all. Haha my mind was immediately thinking about how much progress I can make and how much money I can make doing it. Just working an extra ten hours this week would boost my paycheck enough to pay off my mattress early, and the more hours I tack on, the more money I can put towards savings or paying off a credit card or treating myself to something or Christmas gifts! So I've been working from noon to 3am the past few days, and I'm considering coming in my days off too.
Haha frankly the fifteen hour work days are really keeping me from over eating and I'm making sure I get at least six of seven hours of sleep a night, so I don't think I'm pushing myself too hard. I love the idea of having a bit of extra money, so yay for that.
In other financial news, Since buying my car in January I have improved my credit score by 36% points, and reduced the amount of credit I have used/owe from 91% capacity to 64% capacity. I'm super excited about that! My goal is still to have two of my cards completely paid off by the end of the year, and all this extra overtime is going to help me achieve that. So yay!
Well I really need to head into work! I will do my best not to go so long between blog posts and try to be more active on everyone's spark page and the website in general, but as far as this week and next week are concerned, I'm not going to be around very much! Hopefully I have more positive things to report when I blog next!
