Just thinking about 2013

Wednesday, November 06, 2013

I got my first "A" on a spelling test in elementary school on a Friday 13th. So forever people look at such day as a cursed day but I see it as a lucky day. This has carried over to 13 being just a good number to me. How funny that it is November 2013 and it just hit me it's 2013 and what a lucky year I have had. Yes, I almost died and had serious complications and it has effected my work year, but Oh the blessings!!!! This has been a year of positive change in my life. I ran my first 5 K (3 of them), I am stronger, I am healthier, I am not slowly deteriorating, I no longer walk through mud, and today.... wait for it, .... today, I have lost 100 lbs! Today the scale read 142 lbs. I am wearing a size 8 and I no longer need to park in the closest parking space at the grocery store due to exhaustion! What a great year 2013 has been and it's not even over yet. I started this year with a surgery that changed my weight and life (despite the difficulty, (NO ON SAID IT WOULD BE EASY!) and I will end it with another Surgery in December 2013 for the hernia and maybe tummy tuck, Ill know more about that tomorrow, (Praying minus all complications). What an AMAZING YEAR 2013 has been!

Day 6: I give thanks today for a day off with a friend. Thank you Jesus for friendships. I realize they change and go through growing pains sometimes, and distance when someone moves affect them, but I give thanks for the many people God has placed in my life as friends. I have Christmas Village with a special friend Carole today and am so happy to be off and share this day with her!
