I was the only one on my shift to dress up for the kids. I gots a cape!
November and I still have to turn off the air conditioners behind my boys every night. Lots of rain lately but luckily, I didn't feel all achy and flu-like Tuesday for the first week day since coming back from vacation and was able to get my five miles in. Finally. I had all the girls Monday night with the other unit having eight girls out of nineteen on one OR MORE precautions. God made it a blessing for me. It seems that usually, the earlier I go to check on them, the sooner they start acting out but I just really felt I needed to bite the bullet and check in early. As soon as I updated all my paperwork and checked on my three precautions, I went over during first dinner. Since its been awhile working that unit I decided to talk to everyone, take names, tell them how forgetful I am but I AM trying to learn them. The very first girl says 'Ms Connie! You are the only nurse except one that listens to what we have to say!' I had just walked in. I spent a wonderful hour lounging a little on each pod and we didn't have any 911s Monday OR Tuesday!
This is my nephew
Tuesday, one of the boys got a letter from a girl and told staff she needed to be put on phone and mail restrictions so of course the staff that loves to report stuff had me come over to read it. I applaud the girl for calling him out as being childish calling her a B when they 'only dated a day.' Then the staff comes in and says there wasn't anything wrong with her letter. Dipstick. But then another boy asks to talk to me so I got trapped in the office again. They never want to leave when they have your attention and why not give them some? This was funny though. He was coming to the girl's defense to say she does nothing wrong and the other boy is being a jerk...then he pulls out his duct tape camo wallet, FILLED with her letters, and proceeds to read 90 percent of them to me. They are like brother and sister because she doesn't want to date anyone from a placement. Except the other guy, I guess. Guy number 2 really has it bad. I could tell.
This weekend was very productive. I mowed and re-did the edging. Still will take several more attempts but it gets better every time. I am in shock that I got so much caught up for the new month and it seems to basically be staying caught up. Only just now getting back to regularly getting those five miles in from feeling crummy but hope to get back to the free weights tomorrow, too. Part of it was not taking my supplements for a couple of months, mainly glucosamine. Waist pain like a vice and RIGHT wrist and hand pain for over 24 hours when I didn't do ANYTHING to it last week. The other one has the arthritis! Pulling weeds etc for four hours on Saturday might explain Monday. And my pedometer was turned to manual so it didn't record all weekend! Even got three junk bags down to one and did ALL my filing including overflow filing. And rearranged the garage in anticipation of starting the bathroom. In six more weeks. Ron is taking off Thursday and Friday to stay at his brother's and hunt so I will actually get to sleep in the bed before 5 am!!! When he first quit using the CPAP because it was so loud, he had quit snoring but now I am knocked back to the couch since he has gone back to his bad boy ways. He says he will be back Saturday afternoon but I wonder what my plans are? Gonna ask if Dakota and Baby Cat want to go hiking if it isn't too wet but I am ready to be home a bit. I am taking them to closing weekend of the Texas Rennesaince Festival cuz she wants to go for Celtic Christmas.
Rolling Stone magazine online is streaming Counting Crows upcoming release 'Echoes of the Outlaw Roadshow' but its too congested for me to get to. Whaa
