A toast with a twist... (Speech Class)

Tuesday, November 05, 2013

For my Speech class, since I cant do an eulogy and I don't want to do a welcoming address. I would like to do a roast, but then I need the person to be willing to accept the jokes...

So my professor said if I can prepare a toast with a twist. She'll review the speech and let me know if I can do it...

The scenario (which I can change up a little): Your best friend is getting married. Your flight was delayed and missed the ceremony. However, you make it in perfect time for the reception. You must give a toast to the newly married couple. Yet, you know this marriage was forced and/or that the bride's/groom's side of the family detest the alternate person. For example: Groom's side of family hates the bride or vice versa.

Remember the toast must be tasteful and appropriate to the scenario. Only 2 minutes in length and has to be from memory (no cheat sheets or cue cards).

Since I have a lot of interesting options come up recently... I'm gonna play around with them for a bit until I come up with an amazing speech..... lol, with my own personal touched.... lol. Now, time to get to work!
