Wow... not what I was expecting...

Today I took my 6 am X-Bike class and decided to wear my HRM to see how many calories I burned.

A grand total of.... 334 calories?

I was shocked. 334 calories? That hardly seems like anything at all!

I will say it makes junk food seem soooo not worth it!

    The bright side is that your heart thanks you for working out and there is more oxygen circulating in your blood because you work out..... the benefits of moving your body outweigh sitting on the couch :-)

    I hear ya, it's often disappointing looking at the calorie # burned, and the worst is too, the heavier you are the more calories you burn, so as you start to lose weight you will start to burn less calories doing the same exercises. It hurts to think about, but that's why we always have to change it up, or ad something new every few months. IT's a long journey! It took me years to get to the weight I am now. I don't want it to take just as long to lose it, but I know I have to be realistic, 1-2 pounds a week over 100 to lose, that's a full year! hurts my brain thinking about it.

    I agree. The shock that we get when we find out that we have not burned near as many calories that we felt we had. It is shocking. I guess the reality is that we did this to ourselves now we have to spend twice as hard to rid ourselves of what we have.
