Polar Bear Fat

Tuesday, November 05, 2013

My daughter is 8 years old. I'm wondering why I ever bothered to teach her to talk. I also constantly strive to remind her to tell the truth.

She spoke some honest words to me this weekend that woke me up.

"Mommy, you have polar bear fat. Are you saving up to hibernate for the winter?"

Um, ouch! That hurt.

Once I got over the sting, I realized she is right.

I just took my measurements and they ain't pretty folks. I've gained 3 inches on my hips, 3 inches on my waist, and 1 inch on my neck. AND I've gained 20 pounds since I hit my goal weight four years ago.

Looks like I have some work to do.

I would like to thank my daughter for her honesty because it shook me WIDE awake.

Back to tracking food. Back to daily workouts. Back to fighting my way to back healthy.

A Mom

Inspiration comes in many forms; your daughter's honesty is commendable.

Good luck, you can do this!
