Exercise?? Who, Me??

Tuesday, November 05, 2013

I am really an expert at getting out of exercising. I use all kinds of excuses. My age, my bad knees, no time, etc.... And they truly are 'excuses' not 'reasons' as I know there are many things I could do even with my many aches and pains.
My favorite physical activity is water aerobics. However, I have not been very faithful in doing it. If only I had my own pool, preferably in the house (I hate to be cold!). But I don't so I will have to make an effort to go elsewhere for this activity. And If I can't bring myself to do that I really do need to walk more. That I could do in any number of places, even right here in my home.
And if my knees start to hurt, I can always sit down!!

You could always try working on an exercise goal or streak. A lot of people find that motivating, and pretty rewarding when they've done it! emoticon

Try just putting on your workout clothes/shoes. Sometimes that's all the motivation I need to get started. Then I feel like I need to get my workout in before I can take off my shoes.

When I was starting to make exercise a regular habit, I used the Leslie Sansone walking dvds. It was easy to adjust how much I did based on the time I had. I promised myself that I'd go at least 1 mile every day and I often went more.

If I lived near you, we'd go to water aerobics together!

I can relate! I do fine during the week but weekends are another thing - I just make excuses. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I do the same thing...make excuses not to exercise. But once I get to where I need to be...the gym I get right in the groove!! Getting there is the hard part!
