Better Sleep Challenge Day Four

I am only answering these questions for the first week of the Better Sleep Challenge - so you will be happy to know that I only have three more days remaining :)

What time did you wake up today? 4:35am

What time did you lay down to go to sleep? 9:55pm

What, if any, was your bedtime routine? Read some blogs on my IPhone before bed.

What were the last food(s) you consumed tonight? (Include type, amount, and time you ate.) We had a late dinner due to my daughter's doctor's appoinment - homemade chili over green leaf salad - a pinch of Mexican cheese - a dab of ranch dressing- and a few Tostitos at 7:45pm.

Did you exercise today? (Include the type, duration, and time of day if you exercised.) Walked 14,000 steps - took the dogs for a 20 minute walk in the morning and in the afternoon - also completed my abs and chest workout (30 minutes) in the morning.

Did you consume any alcoholic beverages today? (Include type, number, and time of day.) NO!!

Did you consume any caffeinated drinks or foods today? (Include type, number, and time of day.) Yes -- four cups of coffee total - last one at 1:00pm.

Did you take any medications (prescription and/or over-the-counter) today? (Include type, amount, and time of day.) No.

Did you take any naps today? (Include number of naps, duration of each, and time of day.) No - I wish :)

What types of stressors did you encounter today, and what types do you expect to encounter tomorrow? Monday was a low stress day - biggest stressor was how tired I was. Today may have stress - heading in to the office for two big meetings where my project is the focus - lots of stress around the office about my project.

How hungry did you feel today? (1- Not hungry, 2- Normal hunger, 3- Strong hunger, 4- Extreme hunger) 2- Normal hungry.

How awake did you feel today? (1- Exhausted, 2- Somewhat tired, 3- Fairly alert, 4- Wide awake) 2- Somewhat tired

How irritable did you feel today? (1- Calm, 2- Slightly annoyed, 3- Moderately irritable, 4- Highly irritable) 2- Slightly annoyed.

Next, draw a line of Zzz's across the page beneath your answers to these questions. When you wake up, answer the following questions below your "sleep" line:
How long did it take you to fall asleep last night? (This may be an estimate.) 2 minutes

How many times did you wake up during the night? (Include times you woke up and how long you stayed awake.) Once to let the puppy out to potty. My Fitbit went dead last night (not sure why it hasn't been taking a charge) so I don't know how much I was tossing and turning.

In total, how many hours did you sleep last night? 6:30 (using the clock).

So.....Yes -- I need to get to bed sooner!!! Even with getting up to take the puppy out, I need to get more sleep than 6:30 hours!!
