Chicken Littles have HOW MANY CALORIES?!?!

I got a bit of calorie shock earlier. I was out running some errands and I was hungry and there was a KFC. My brain said "Well, a Chicken Little is about half the size of a grilled chicken sandwich from Wendy's, which is 320 calories. But it's fried. So... 250?" Yeah, DEFINITELY should have taken the time to pull over and open the SP app and look. Try... 320. And I ate 2 of them. OUCH. When I got home and looked it up and realized it was 640 calories, compared to the 500 I was expecting, I was sad. But, it is what it is. I ate them, they were tasty... and now I know not to do it again unless I have a LOT of spare calories!

Today wasn't all bad, though. I got up when my alarm went off, got dressed, and met The Buddy at the park for a walk. I was so super proud of myself. As usual, I had trouble sleeping last night, and I was afraid I'd never get my lazy ass out of bed and get to the park. But I did! We walked 34 minutes. And it was a glorious morning for it, too. Blue sky with puffy clouds, and all the beautiful fall colors... couldn't have asked for a nicer day. A normal person would probably have thought it a little cold {mid-40s}, but in my hoodie and leggings, I was quite comfy.

Other than the Chicken Littles incident, food hasn't been too bad. I had an Egg White Delight for breakfast, then a turkey sandwich with pretzels and salsa, and then the spinach, feta, turkey muffins for dinner, with creamy paprika rice and a pile of steamed veggies. And... there may have been a couple of {diet!} cupcakes {with no icing!} I haven't been perfect... especially considering the KFC situation... but not TOO terribly bad.

Today I switched out my calendars. This is Oct's calendar...



As you can see, there are not a lot of stickers on there. Oct was definitely not a good month for me. I hung my November calendars, and I already have 2 stickers, so hopefully that's a good sign for the month. Unfortunately they're animal stickers instead of Thanksgiving stickers because apparently no one sells Thanksgiving stickers. We drove all over the place trying random stores we thought might have some, and no one did. Hmph. I still got my two stickers I earned, though!

After dinner I made my first attempt at a floral arrangement.



Otherwise, I've spent the day on the couch with my nose in a book. The Buddy brought a book by one of her favorite authors for me to read, so I've been alternating between that and a book called "Fit To Live".

    KFC????RU NUTS?? I call it HAOP (heart attack on a plate) I was addicted to the coleslaw and chicken,, but that all ended when I started Sparks and saw the unbelievable fat and grease, calories and cholesterol in that stuff! God love Colonel Sanders for his great taste and wonderful cooking, but geez-Louise it is a wonder he did not fall into a frying pan ,,dead!!
Your veggies sound great though.. What is a turkey muffin? I like apple wedges dipped in crunchy peanut butter for a snack.. easy and portable.. how goes the swimming class?

    Great job getting up AND exercising! And for eating well (except for the Chicken Little's - but it happens to the best). emoticon
