losing Spark Friends.........sad, but who knows?

Sunday, November 03, 2013

Today I cleaned up my Spark Friend list and 'lost' about 25 friends that hadn't been active for the past year or had closed their accounts. Makes me think about how if I were a bit more involved in encouraging them, would they be gone?

I'm thankful for all the kind words that keep me going through this crazy journey we each refer to as, "life."

So to all those who remain, I'm glad you are here and let's continue together!

Blessings on this beautiful, sparkling day!

I have edited my comment four or more times, and the words keep disappearing. Is it just my computer? It only happens on SP.

Always makes one wonder, doesn't it? When you have finally found success, you wonder why others give up.
I'm glad we are still friends!!!

It is sad to see people come and go on Spark People. I have not removed any of them from my friend list though, because I always have hopes that they will return. They will never be forgotten...

I agree that it is sad to go through my friends here on SP and see how many have left or not active anymore. Some of them I delete, others I leave because they have been known to come and go. I, too, appreciate all the encouragement I get from my Spark friends.!

I can relate, I'm doing the same thing right now...
Many friend I lost each time I did this, and usually there are no signs or warnings at all.
I imagine life happens, one misses a few days logins... and they just don't have the time to get back for a couple of more days, then weeks : (
So I at least log in and spin the wheel, whatever happens.
One of my friends wrote a blog and explained she didn't have time to stay so active anymore but she is OK and will continue her healthy lifestyle. And I'm glad each time I see a status update from here once in a while.
On the other hand I try to have only so many friends I can maintain contact with.

I think we all have had that happen both here and in our "real" life. What makes us feel worse? them being gone, which is a bummer, or our feeling guilty? IT IS NOT OUR FAULT!

We must realize that the only influence we have on another is our path and letting them see it or not. Acceptance and respect is in order here as it is everywhere else.

Most of those on my friends lists are gone or inactive now but it is hard to remove them.

what is worse when the same friends have more than one account because they forgot their passwords and did not want to ask for it from the techs

I would guess that at least half of my spark friends are MIA during these nearly-five years that I've been a sparker.

We all do as much as we can. This is a huge community and we could spend our entire life and never feel it is enough. So we just do what we can handle.

I know exactly how you feel. My two closest SF have disappeared from the site. I really miss them! I was thinking about deleting them from my friends list, but I keep hoping they will come back. I only hope I am encouraging someone as much as my SF are encouraging me. I would not be able to do this on my own.
