Gratitude really is an attitude!

I have been reading everyone's gratitude lists and thinking I should get with the program and post the things that I am thankful for.
However, before I can do that I decided to dig into the subject a little bit more (of course I did!)
The best definition I could find for gratitude is " an emotion expressing appreciation for what one has as a whole, relationships, material goods, etc…..., as opposed to a consumer oriented emphasis on what one wants or in a sense even needs. Gratitude is what gets poured into the glass to make it half full."
It goes without saying that I am grateful beyond words for all the material goods in my life, and I love my boys, my husband, my parents, my sister, my brother (and their families), my step kids, my pets, my job, my staff, well just my life in general. I am content and I am comfortable.
However I am finding that my contentment and thankfulness have little to do with what is going on around me and a lot to do with what is going on within me. For that I am truly thankful!
I am mostly grateful to the one who made all those things possible.
Psalm 100:4 says "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise: give thanks to Him and praise His name" Psalm 107:15 "Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men." That seems like a good plan to me.
Thank you God , for giving me a loving family, for making my life a comfortable place to be, for giving me a job I love with a staff I love, thank you for every single thing in my life, the good, the bad, and yes even the ugly.
Help me God to keep from dwelling on the material things in my life, to appreciate the relationships in my life , to see your unconditional love for me, to cultivate the "Attitude of Gratitude". But most of all Lord, help me never forget you are the one who makes it all possible.
