My new workout videos

Well, I’ve got a new routine now! A very dear Spark friend sent me two exercise DVDs. Jodi Stolove’s Life’s a Celebration and a Seated Tai Chi program. (And some new Pilates bands!) The videos are not as intense as my turbo chair workout, (although I was able to increase the intensity and up my heart rate by modifying the workout as I went along) but I desperately needed to have something different, to have some variety in my workouts because I was becoming so bored with them. For now, since I workout every day, I am going to continue my Turbo workout every other day to maintain my customary intensity and my new Jodi Stolove video for variety on the other days. I will continue using my exercise bike every day and doing my arm strength workouts as well. I will be attempting the Tai Chi in the afternoon. I will also still throw in resistance training and core training every few days. But it is going to be so nice to have different videos to do.

I still highly recommend the Turbo Chair workout. Its intensity is great…it just becomes a little too routine after several months of doing it every morning!

    I am totally giggling over the mental images I got from the phrase "Turbo Chair".

A few weeks ago I found some really good chair yoga videos on youtube. Please help me remember to post the links, I don't have them on my phone here.

We need to change up our routine every now and again!!! In my AM walks, I'm up to 20 laps, and God told me to stop at 20 and don't go higher. I was getting in a bit of a rut, just walking every day, but I knew I wanted to continue with it, so I started doing different things in my walk. I would walk zig zag across the road, I would walk as fast as I can for 3 laps and then regular pace for 3, I've even jogged, danced my way down the road, as I wearing headphones, marching in place, at some point. I do what ever I can to bring a bit of variety to my walk, and God hasn't disappointed me, yet!!!

I pray that your new workout plan helps you out better for you, to where you'll see the lbs. just melting away.

    You obviously have a SUPER Spark friend. I tend to shy away from videos unless recommended, because I have so much trouble with my back. The seated turbo sounds good but I think it sounds like more than a beginning beginner. LOL. I will have to learn how to use youtube to find free videos that I can cope with. ANything to recommend?     I have that same Jodi Stolove DVD and I love it! I also have a couple of her other ones.

That Tai Chi one sounds good too; I have one that is half seated and half standing, but I would like to find one that can be done entirely while seated.

    That's great Kathy! Another thing you could do to get some more variety is find exercise video's on YouTube that are the right intensity and interest level for you (there are a LOT of them) and then burn them to DVD. Here's a link to download a free YouTube to DVD burner program with instructions on how to use it:

Look on You Tube for Leslie Sansone walking video's. Denise Austin and Jessica Smith have some good video's too. Do a search on You Tube for "Low Intensity Workouts" and see what you find. If you like Tai Chi there are a lot of those on there too.
