Today was the long day working at the dealership. They asked me to do something new today and I was apprehensive about how the new task might impact my ability to do the others. As it turned out, not much. I got everything done with time to spare. I do worry, though, that the call volume (or lack of) may make the owners decide to cut back my hours even further. Actually, worry is not the right word, There's nothing I can do about it, so it's more an occasional thought than a worry.
My "new" car had its' first oil change under my ownership today. It was at the dealership, so I brought it in on my lunch break, gave my favorite service adviser the key and walked out the door. It was a lovely fall day and I walked for most of my break. I am a turtle, but I was still surprised that the walking steps were fewer than 8K. My pedometer says I walked over 9K, but the steps that counted for calorie burn were below 8K. Still, that is progress for me! I really enjoyed the feeling after the walk. I must remember this so I keep walking! As I sat at the desk in the afternoon, I stiffened a bit.
In the mid afternoon, I took a break and went to the service center to pay for the oil change and get the key. My service adviser told the cashier to give me the employee discount and he had one of the porters wash my car. It was gleaming! It looked better than it did the day I bought it. AND, I saw later on the bill that they had checked the air pressure and made it match the specs for the tires. I work there only one day a week, so I was thrilled to qualify for the employee discount! My previous car was a VW and the oil changes cost more than twice what I paid today.
In a recent blog, I mentioned I had joined Pixielicious' new team and one of our challenges has been to blog daily. At the same time, Bill has been facing this needle biopsy. I blogged about that more than once. I was not surprised, but I have been very touched by the comments and support I have received from my Spark Family! Thank you! I even made a new Spark Friend!
A gorgeous day, a walk that I really needed, an affordable oil change with more than outstanding service, the warmth and support of my SP family - I am so thankful!
