But I didn't really think about it again until today while I was on the treadmill. Last weekend my sorority had a sisterhood retreat at a gymnastics center. I was in leggings so I would be comfortable even though I couldn't really use the equipment since I'm still recovering from hip surgery. We were sitting in a circle doing an activity when my sister (and one of my best friends) sitting next to me made a comment. She told me she was jealous that my calves were so small and hers weren't. And I kinda looked at my calves and went "huh" my calves did look smaller. I'd never really paid attention to my calves because I'd never had a particular problem with them. They'd always been kind of bigger because I was a dancer for so long and I was just used to it. The more I thought about it, the more I realized it was all from my physical therapy. I've been working my legs so much that I lost quite a bit of fat from my calves while building up the muscle. It was an interesting discovery and it kind of makes me proud that I was toning without even realizing it. It helps me want to stay motivated and work hard to lose weight and tone everywhere else. So I just thought I would share.
