Days 1 & 2 of the three week blog challenge.

Saturday, November 02, 2013

Aargh just lost my first entry on this.

1. Have you set a new short- or medium-term goal or challenge recently? Do you have a goal or challenge that you have been working on for a while? What is it? What do you hope to gain from it?
After wrestling with the new goal thing for a few days I have decided that I will do eight strength training sessions in November. This is a SMART goal: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound. 8 sessions is achievable and I can mark them off as completed. It is realistic because I have a set of dumbells at home and Sparkcoach Nicole will help me with a plan. And it is time bound because it will be over at the end of November.

I will gain some strength and a teeny tiny bit of muscle. I will be satisfied because I will have undertaken something I have planned to do all year. And hopefully I will gain momentum to continue to include ST into my regular fitness program.
2. Imagine you have met your new short- or medium-term goal or challenge. What would you like to say happened for you while you were working toward that goal?
While I was working toward that goal I found that it was so easy to snack on strength training that I find I can incorporate it into my week more often. It was pleasurable to work my muscles and I enjoyed the feeling of pushing myself, of keeping to good technique, and the sensation the next day of a pleasant soreness from having pushed myself a little. I enjoyed it so much that I want to continue. I am going to do it again next month, and build up from 8 to 12 sessions a month.
Yes, I did find all those things in the month ahead!

Great goal - specific, measurable. Makes me realize I need to work on some goals that include these things.

    Loved the 'snacking'. emoticon

I am going to do that too Fifi. I have been so remiss with my ST and this blog has spurred me into action. Thank you! I have a 10 minute upper body that I used to really enjoy, so will be doing that 8 times throughout November.

Try "Ctrl - Z" (un-do) next time you obliterate your post. I've saved myself more than once with that.

"Snacking on Strength Training"! What a great image. Cracked me up. Very good, Fifi.

I like Coach Nicole's strength training videos, but for some reason I can't get myself to do them late. I guess I have to fork over some cash every now and then to get myself motivated.

I love the "SMART" goal! I need to think on it and come up with some of my own!

As for losing your first blog, I have done that many times and not just for posting a blog. I finally learned to write my blog or comment in Word or One Note and then copy and paste it.
