Day 8 of ultra-low carb

8 am: decaf with 1/4 cup cream

10:30 am: scrambled eggs with sausage, prepared for me expertly at our food co-op, what a treat!

2:30pm: a few nuts

5:30pm: 1 cup yogurt with 1/2 cup blueberries, 2 oz. hazelnuts

9pm: crustless pan pizza, made with broccoli-rabe, mushrooms, ground beef cooked in lots of coconut oil, onions, tomato sauce, Italian herbs and mozzarella cheese on top



Exercise: I went for a longer uphill walk today, enjoying the sunshine and the dogs playing. I suspect tomorrow I'll get to enjoy sore calf muscles. emoticon

the great thing about having carbs low enouh to be in ketosis is that you don't get very hungry. The best way I can describe it for me is that when you do get hungry the thought of food comes to your mind, but it's never urgent, because it is not caused by low blood sugars. Delaying a meal by a few hours is not a big deal, just this background thought that some food soon would be nice. Interestingly enough, my husband almost always feels that way, even on more carbs. emoticon

    How was your hunger doing this? Was it a real struggle or just not really hungry?

    Love the idea of crustless pan pizza! I've done cauliflower pizza few times, but it doesn't hold up to lots of toppings. Thanks, and well done on the ultra-low carb. Without really trying, I didn't have any carbs all day yesterday except for a pear, and was surprised at how good I felt. Will probably toy with lowering the carbs some more after my HM tomorrow. Thanks for your blog, I really enjoy reading it!
