Blog Challenge:

Have you set a new short- or medium-term goal or challenge recently?
I am attempting to set some short and medium term goals. Goal setting is a weak point of mine. Short term is 30 days so Iím going with:
1) 10,000 step EVERY day (I blew this in October),
2) Stay in calorie range 5 of 7 days per week
3) ST 3 days a week

Do you have a goal or challenge that you have been working on for a while? What is it?
I really want to build muscle! I donít like my muffin top and I have absolutely no tone/definition.

What do you hope to gain from it?
I know I will enjoy my appearance more and I will be more confident.

Iíve been going since 5 am. I still have a dog to train so I will be going until 10 tonight. Iím not exactly certain how Iím going to get my cardio in tonight but I WILL get it in. Iím at 6,500 steps so I can do this. I also have 30 minutes of cardio in the books. So 30 minutes and 3,500 steps before I can go to bed. I can do this.

I so agree with the goal idea. I'm always just trying to get through my work days so I don't really have definitive goals to work on. I'll have to think on this. Right now my goals are to do my 10,000 steps daily, get at least 8 glasses of water in daily, eat clean, do ST 2 x weekly. That's about all I have on a daily basis. I'd love to be at goal weight by my birthday 1/3 but we all know I'm not going to lose 40 lbs in 8 we'll have to readjust that one. I wish I were more focused on ME..I'm always focused on this 'save our house''s depleting. I'll be happy when it's way or another...3 1/2 years of fighting is probably enough...I just can't seem to throw in the towel...after all it's our HOME we are fighting for...wish I were that stubborn on my health goals! emoticon

Great goals!!! Mine are 8 cups water everyday, st 3X week, fit mins 5+ x week and stay in calorie range everyday. Those are my continual goals. I gon't meet all of them consistently, but I meet atleast one of them every week, usually two. Also really pushing hard to get 5 fruit/veggies/day, not so easy sometimes, but I'm trying.

You can do it! Goal setting is always challenging and the key is to be more definitive than vague, and also having clear reasons for why we want to lose the weight and get in shape. Too often we are too vague... that has been my problem for a long time with my weight loss and fitness efforts. Another point is that even once we (meaning people generally) have defined our goals and reasons, we don't keep them in front of us in a tangible way. I'm in the process now of creating a new system for myself to define my goals more clearly and then keep it in front of me daily. When I get the idea in my head down on paper, I'll share it with you! :)
