November goals...

Friday, November 01, 2013

I have 2 goals in November...aside from the usual 8 waters a day, which I'm getting better at.

1. No nachos or chips with dip. One of my biggest weaknesses/tempations/binges is those cans of salsa con queso. YES! I know how bad that stuff is, I just seriously love it. I ate that more than normal in October and now that I have Pepsi/soda under control again, I can focus on this next Goliath.

2. Get down to 270 from my current weight of 279.8. This is a high point. Never thought I'd see 280 and I did the other day. Saw 281 in fact. I've been in the 260's for about 6 years so getting this high is a real eye opener because I never thought I'd see it. I figured I'd levelled out and just wasn't gaining anymore. Obviously not.

I have a lot of personal goals for November. Read a particular book, read a book in the NT, Christmas baking, Christmas cards, decorating etc....so my month is looking pretty busy. Hopefully too busy for snacking.

I did get my new bed last month. And it did help some. My back doesn't tighten up right away anymore, it happens at some point during the night. And I'm not tossing and turning all night, I'm actually pretty comfy. No diagnosis on my chronic back pain yet, though my RMT did suggest that stress seems to be a much larger factor than I could have imagined.

Seeing how much my weight has gone up the past few months, I'm hoping that cutting out this crap at night coupled with better sleep will set me up for some success finally. And if my weight starts going down then maybe my back will start feeling better and I can exercise again. Right now exercise makes it worse. It inflames something and I get numbness and tingling in my extremities. I'll try again once I'm back in the 260's.
