Friday, November 01, 2013

RE: My next project, (my Spare Bedroom), i now know, exactly what i, am going to, do with/, about my Spare, Bedroom i am, going to make, it into my, proper Bedroom.

My middle Bedroom, which i am, using now will, be made into, a proper Dining, Room (i have, always wanted 2, have 1), ever since i, 1st moved in, here almost 10, years ago.

I have no, doubt @ all that, this will be, a very very, big & long, ongoing job as, @ the moment, my Spare Bedroom, is full right, up with all, the stuff that, i do not, use @ all.

Depending on how, much energy i, have left in, me (not a, lot) @, the moment i, can tell ya, lol lol lol, i may make, a start on, it when i, get home 2day, wish me luck, as i will, need it.

I will let, you know how, it goes through, my various ongoing, & many many, Blogs TBC TBC TBC TBC. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon Take it one step at a time and do a little each day. Have you heard of flylady? There is a group on SP and she has a website too. She has great suggestions for tackling big projects (mostly clutter and organizing your home).

I started another project today. I AM building a small building out in the back yard to keep my fishing rod and reels in and the tackle boxes. Will probably also use it for my outdoor gardening tools. It is not going to be very big. I had the floor done and today framed out the back and two side walls. Will have to wait a while to be able to finish it up but anything worthwhile take time. I know what you mean about home projects. I have all kinds I want to do . My biggest handicap is my husband he likes things as they are!!! Oh well I can still plan and one of these days I will just start in.

Good for you to unclutter your life. Nothing makes me feel better than taking care of sorting things out in my world and life. I have to redo it constantly. I get up, tidy, make coffee and get on Spark. Then I tackle another job and try to get the dogs walked. At the end of the day I get to read a good book to reward myself. Job well done! Hubby is sick right now so cannot see what I am taking to the reuse shed at our local dump. He hates to part with anything.

I have been through this myself. Clearing out and redecorating/repurposing a room actually has visible results in a relatively short timeframe.

Make sure to try to dig into that project at least one hour a day. When the hour is up, see if you are still enjoying the exercise.

Don't see it as a 10 hour per day grind. A little bit each day will get the job done!

Sounds like a great project - we just had a big garage sale and sold a lot of items we didn't want. One of my spare bedrooms looked exactly like you described until that happened. Have fun and enjoy the new room when it's finished. emoticon

I love redecorating! Getting rid of old unused items is the first thing to do and is very freeing. Envision a style or theme you would like to keep. Can any of your old items be repurposed to save money? Then shop yard sales and flea markets or maybe a relative has a cast off that would work for you.Shop the paint stores sometimes they have clearance paint returns that you can get for cheap. Look for 5 gallon buckets so you can do 2 coats. Stay with a very neutral color for your walls and bring in color with your accessories. If you have a bunch of mix matched furniture you can unify the look by painting all one color, be it white, black, or a signature color. If you have bedding or a rug that you really like use that for the start of your color scheme. Let us know the dimensions of your room and if you have windows, and or key pieces of furniture that you will use, we can help with decorating ideas. What fun! Looking forward to see what you can come up with. Good luck and remember there are no time limits here, so no stress on trying to hurry up for any one except yourself ! :-) emoticon
