Ok...so I've been on a quote fest lately, but it's been awesome and inspiring to read the words of others and open myself up to the messages.
This quote is from Cavett Robert. I know, most of you are probably saying the same thing I did...who? Many would say he was just a normal person, like you or me. He had numerous careers in his near 90 years of life (1907-1997)--a teacher, a gasline installer, an attorney, a judge, a professional speaker before they were even defined as such. Why am I sharing all of this...because it is just as possible to learn from everyday people as it is to learn from great leaders, and because the quote really struck a chord.
It's all about perspective and how that perspective effects your attitude, which in turn affects your behaviors and beliefs. By embracing each day as a gift, no matter how crappy the day, no matter how traumatic the events of that day, we can have something positive to focus our attention to that helps ease those troubles. And the knowledge that better days can and will come...so I'm not going to focus on bad days. Every day I am here will be a good one, even when events within it aren't good. Because, like Cavett said, I'd rather be here for another day tomorrow than to miss them...
