I did it! (with pictures to prove it)

Thursday, October 31, 2013

Today I did it! I jogged again! 1 out of 2 is not so bad considering this is my first week, right? My time was still 30 min, but this time I went slow and steady. Last Thursday I was running too fast, having to take longer breaks to cough up mucus every 50 meters.. Lesson learned; I'm not a sprinter! (yet.)

Today I took breaks walking for a minute to catch my breath every 5 minutes or so. I decided to take a photo during every break. Hopefully there will be less photos as time passes ;)

Here are the photos. (Mind you, I did not stop for long, so they are fast snap-shots, and some are lopsided as I was taking them while walking briskly.)

This is right after crossing the parking lot outside my work place. You can see why jogging home is inviting? I can walk the short route next to a road with heavy traffic, or jog the scenic route by the water. Both will take 25-30 min.

Slippery slopes are slippery..

Catching my breath and soaking in the beautiful day before embarking on the steepest part.

See that hill over there? It's the one I just ran up and down.. Phew!

Sun setting down by the docks.

This tree caught my eye. The colors of the leaves contrasting the wall was more vibrant in reality.

Beautiful! Good for you for jogging. I suck at running and jogging, but that doesn't mean I should stop doing it, I know.

Beautiful photos...inspiration enough to get outside for a jog. And keep at it...I remember my first attempts at running...I wanted to die and was convinced it was not good for me :D....a year later I ran my first 10km and couldnt believe once upon a time I couldnt run to the end of the block! Perserverance is the key (and a nice place to motivate you to go outside, as its much more appealing than clocking the kms on a treadmill!)

OMGosh! That is an awesome route to jog on, just stunning! You are right, how could you NOT want to get out there amongst that. You have it all, forest, water, sunsets! Not to mention hills and uneven terrain to really fine tune your senses! I love what you have created with this blog. If you printed it out and looked at it that would be a big motivator to go again, and again, and again..... each season that route would look different - everchanging.. just like us... emoticon
