Today is day 16 of my streak!
October was not a complete success....I was off track for the first half of the month, and I gained back some weight. I'm not sure exactly how much, since I don't weigh myself. But I could tell that those binges lead to a pretty big weight gain in a short time, because my clothes got really tight and I had to go back up a size. (YIKES!) But the amazing thing is that after just 16 days of being back on track....eating healthy and exercising...I am back down to the size I was before I got off track! So although October wasn't a complete success, it also wasn't a complete failure either!
My theme for November is to push myself to exercise more. To move my body as much as possible each day. I'm going to make it a MOVE-ember, lol. (Thank you to my Sparkfriend Jaydee1211 for planting that idea in my head!) I've got my Spark Activity Tracker to motivate me, and I've got my workouts planned for the month. I will be doing DDP Yoga every day (because it is my favorite workout) and then alternating daily between My Fitness Coach for Wii and my Angie Miller Kettlebell Bootcamp DVD.
Have you ever heard the saying "I don't always love the workout, but I always love the results"? That is so true for me! Sometimes the hardest part of a workout is just getting started. I used to be the Queen of Procrastination when it came to that! I would always find other things to do before I worked out. Sometimes I would find so many things to do, that I'd end up missing my workout altogether. And sometimes, when I WOULD start my workout, I'd think "I wish I didn't have to do this."
But now, like it or not, motivated or not....I workout! I workout twice a day, and my workouts are scheduled and written down on the calendar. Although I'm a procrastinator, I'm a stickler for keeping appointments, so this really helps me a lot!
And as for not liking to workout? Well, that feeling usually only lasts for the first few minutes. Once I really get into the workout and those endorphins kick in, I am actually loving it. (Or at least not hating it!) When I start to sweat, I imagine the fat melting away from my body. When I struggle with a move, I push harder because I know it is making me stronger. When I start to breathe harder, I know I am building endurance. I remind myself that each workout makes me healthier, and brings me one step closer to my goal.
I have challenged myself to make as much progress as possible by New Years day. As of today (Oct 31) there are 61 days until the end of the year...its exciting to imagine how much progress I am capable of making!
