Are you dressing up tomorrow?

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

I love Halloween and dressing up. My DH has agreed to let me paint him up like a cat tomorrow like I did 30 years ago when he first met me. Back then it was a test to see if he was fun loving. We decided to do the cats as they aren't too scary since the granddaughter doesn't like too scary.

So anyone else out there dressing up?

I do admit I like dressing up as it brings out the child in me.

Rainy and chilly here in Pennsylvania today. I hope it's not rainy tomorrow. At least I wear the same size as my DIL and she gives me many hand me downs which include really warm coats. I also have hats and gloves and such so I should be fine with staying warm.

Hope you all have a terrific day.
Happy Halloween!
Sallie

No trick or treaters out here in the boonies and no events,
but I opted to wear orange and black to go workout today!

Happy Halloween!

Can't wait to se the pix of you and hubby from ... ooops tonight. (How did it get this late?) Happy Halloween, Sallie!

Me? No dressing up. Grr. Was going to go to son Mike's to see grandsons age 4 and 2.... but I've been down with a doozy of a stomach flu since 9:30pm Sunday (yes, it hit suddenly and with NO warning... 9:30 on the dot!). DIL is expectig a baby in January, so I dare not expose her to germs. :( My immune systems stinks so... here I am going into Day 4 of a 24-hour virus. Am co-leading this week's class team, and it is truly bizarre sitting here feeling like this and running back and forth thinking anything but healthy thoughts! I truly enjoy class teams, so it's a bright spot in my week to lead this one!

Maybe I'll dress up for Mardi Gras this Febuary! (don't you just love the masks??) The grandkids might get a kick out of it!

No costume here. It just seems more hassle than the fun is worth to me. If I lived with someone like you, I could be talked into it . . . assuming she did most of the creative work. I could handle being painted up as the Incredible Hulk, if I didn't have to do the creative and artistic stuff.

If our granddaughter is around, we dress up. This year we will be alone in the boonies. No one has showed up for Trick or Treat in the 14 years we have lived her even though we are always prepared, so this year, no dress up.

I always loved dressing up and the last few years won several best costume prizes. But space is limited here I gave away most of my stuff. I loved doing make up (never wore a mask) and have dressed up as everything from Mr. Spock (ears I created from scratch using spirit gum) to a mad trapper to KISS. So I do miss it very much and will content myself with enjoying all the kids' costumes I see some of which can be very creative! The mall near Mom has a two hour period where participating merchants hand out treats -a most popular event!! But the kids were moving so fast I couldn't get any clear good costume photos! The ones that come to the door I can at least and have posted them in the past.
Look forward to seeing your efforts for your hubby and you :)

My family of origin is very creative and we always had a blast putting together original costumes every year- the candy was just the frosting on the cake.
I continued the tradition with my kids (never ever bought a costume).
But then we had a famliy tragedy after an adult Halloween party and it soured me (and many others in my family) on the holiday.
I am getting a bit more into it since the grandkids came along but I still sort of resent that so many adults have high-jacked the holiday and turned it into an excuse to wear sexy costumes and drink to excess.
I do have one of those witch hats with the long gray hair attached that I bring out for a few days this time of year- wore it to story hour at the library this morning where the kids were all in costume.

I love Halloween and all the costumes.....can dress up at work, but has to be family friendly. I couldn't come up with an idea this year~so just going to throw on all my glow gear from Rock n Glow and hope they still glow lol Tonight going to see Rocky Horror Picture Show~haven't seen since '97 was my first theatre experience. It took me this long to find people crazy enough to go......two of my coworkers, and they a RHPS "virgins" At least they know me well enough to not be surprised when I show up looking like a drag queen in fishnets lol

My honey and I will spend Halloween night cozy up on the couch, watching scary movies, and eating candy! Not very healthy, but it's the one day we have candy in the house emoticon

Nope. I actually don't celebrate Halloween. It's not a religious thing, more of a social cultural thing.

I don't think so. My work doesn't really support that. Maybe when we hand out candy I will

Sadly, I am not. It was great fun when I was a little younger and more agile that I am today. I still have great fun handing out the treats and praising the costumes of the kids.
