Great tips from Sofia Vergara's trainer

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

I'm an hourglass figure, with a propensity to gain weight in my chest and thighs first. And, I am not naturally thin - for me to stay "thin" requires a great deal of work, as this is something I've struggled with my whole life. Although, looking back at me as a teenager, I can't believe I always was so self-conscious and thought I was so huge. What a waste!

Anyway, I think Sofia Vergara has a great figure, so I was reading about how she does it and I liked when her trainer, Gunnar Peterson said, "You really don't have 40 minutes? The President is far
busier than you, Kim Kardashian is far busier than you, and she can make
time. It's about prioritizing."

Aside from regular exercise, he says to avoid carbs later in the day, and to generally watch out for carbs, because the water weight they bring on, "blurs, to a certain degree, definition and
 muscle separation."

I read this all here:

The most important thing for all of us is to realize that being healthy means taking the time to exercise.

    Good point.

The only way to do this -- at least for me -- is to work it like a JOB -- that's what I had to do anyway! Wayne and I both did. No excuses.

The only thing I will take exception with, though, is using Kim Kardashian and celebs as examples. They have trainers come to their HOMES -- She has time for it because looking good IS her job. Plus she has money for a nanny, maid and lots of other luxuries 99.9% of people don't have (sorry - that set me off a bit because I think a lot of people do struggle for the time. He should likely choose another person to mention, like a Senator or, heck, even a "real person" i.e. someone who has maintained weight loss after the Biggest Loser -- OK - I'm off my soap box now. Sorry!)
