It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that Yvonne passed away Friday, October 25. She had developed lung cancer which quickly spread through her body and into her brain. On September 15 she had a turn for the worse and was not expected to live. However, when Angus went back to the hospital Monday morning, he found her awake and alert and visiting with friends. She went home a few days later.
She has remained at home with help from our church family and friends. They were going daily to visit and help Yvonne and Angus. Angus had contacted all of Yvonne's family and told them to come to visit before she passed away. Yvonne had accepted Christ and asked to be baptized. One of our pastors went to their home and baptized Yvonne. She was so happy.
Towards the end she was in a lot of pain, but one of her sons was unable to get to see her until Friday of last week. Yvonne managed to hold on until he arrived. When she saw him she gave him a big smile. A short while later she passed away. I am so happy that all of the family were able to be there for her passing. Angus came to church on Sunday, and he even went up and asked for prayer. That was a HUGE step for him. He wasn't sure if he really believed that prayer changed anything. However, he was very grateful for the extra time he had with Yvonne because of all our prayers.
I am continuing to pray for him and his family that they will be able to deal with their grief. I know our church family will be there to help him in any way we can. I believe the memorial service will be held on Monday.
Thanks so much to all of you who have been praying for them. I so appreciate your prayers.
