The beginning of a beautiful thing...

I had a successful day! Wooooooo! I still didn't get up early {I was up before 2... by 3 minutes...}, but I made it a good day when I did get up. It was a very close call, though. When I woke up, my first thought was "Eh, slept too late again, don't wanna exercise now, gonna go to the kitchen and eat til I'm stuffed." But I made myself pause... just for a moment... and consider.

I struck up the agreement with myself that I'd get a diet soda and go sit down and sip it for half an hour while I pondered the day before I did anything at all. In the course of that half hour I talked some good sense into myself and decided going for a walk was a much better idea than shoving my face full of food I would regret 10 minutes later. So I decided to run {walk sorta fast} from zombies today. It's the first time I had done the app in a while, so I started over again with the first workout. 36 minutes. I was pooped, but man oh man was I happy with myself when I was finished!

And finishing a good workout put me in the right frame of mind for healthy food, too. So I had egg whites and light toast with salsa. I also managed to get dinner in the crockpot... chicken, potatoes and carrots, and then I heated up a can of green beans to go with it. So I also had a healthy dinner. Tasty, too. Dh was very pleased to wake up to the scent of dinner cooking, and I was very pleased to have a plate full of food that didn't undo my walk. So everyone was happy.

The rest of the day has come along fine as far as eating. I have made healthy choices and am below my calorie goal for the day. I also drank lots and lots of water, which always makes me feel better, too.

Now the trick is to make today the first in a lengthy string of good days. My goal again for tomorrow is to get up and go to the gym and swim. I didn't make it yesterday, but I'm determined for tomorrow! I've been reading a book about water exercise this evening and it has some good ideas in it. My gym doesn't do any kind of classes, so there's no water aerobics class. I just gotta swim laps every which way, and do exercises I read in books. I'm gonna look like a weirdo, but I care not. I'm gonna get my workout on anyway.

I'm REALLY hoping the walk this morning will help me fall asleep tonight. I get frustrated when I can't fall asleep, and dh will be leaving for work, so I will be home alone and inclined to get anxious on top of it. Yuck. So hopefully I will fall asleep peacefully.

    Oh yikes, up at 3am cleaning your kitchen. That's not good. Did you finally get some sleep?

    What a great day!! I burned all of my calories at work big time, then walked at menards, aldi's, parents hose,10,000 steps a day is easy when I work full time..
I wish I had the time you do to just sleep and exercise at will. I am exhausted when I get home form work, but cannot sit down or I will fall asleep, I just keep going until bed time... go swimming for me wouldja???

    GREAT DAY, GREAT THOUGHT AT START, my day did not really start to 4pm. The first thing I did was call my Uncle Ed and found out that my cousin Karen daughter, Evan, field lacrosse team won the State Championship. Also I was happy to wake without a migraine headache that caused me to have an awkward sleep schedule last night. Thanks to so many great friends I re-lit my spark and had a hard 2 hour core workout followed by an 2 hour walk before midnight for my exercise for the day.

I was a long distance swimmer in High School. You burn so many calories in the pool and it is so good for your body AND mind. While practicing I was able to solve many problems and difficulties. Also you will be impressive while you accomplish your goal to go...go...go. And, I hope you just have fun!!!
