Day 5 Cape Cod Trip
Tuesday, October 29, 2013
Another day of eating too much. I decided to go to a diner for lunch. The menu said 'Eat Heavy' and I didn't get it. It had huge portions. And, the parking lot was full of cars. The food was very good, I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner. Still over the target.
In Hyannis, I found a JFK Memorial that wasn't on any of the maps. Then I remembered that the Kennedy family had a place there. When I walked the beach and the break wall, I kept thinking that the Kennedy boys had probably done the same thing many times.
I did 2 walks in pursuit of lighthouses, plus blocks in downtown New Bedford, MA. I Hope that helps.
In New Bedford, I went to the Whaling National Park exhibit, too. Bought a necklace that says, 'Not all who wander are lost', seemed like a perfect fit! The other side shows the compass points. And a Fleur De Lis dangles!
I have now explored every corner of Cape Cod, and it is truly lovely.
I think I will do the National Parks in Boston next. Plymouth is on the way.
