Do we really need a 24/7 1 Year Anniversary coverage of Hurricane Sandy?

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Can't even watch TV today. Every channel is covering it. We do not need reminders! We certainly won't forget. All we have to do is look around. Most of the areas hit are still devastated.

Only good thing to come of today's news coverage was an interview with Governor Sandy is he finally admitted to all of the red tape and jumps and hoops they are making us do to try to get some assistance in the form of grants to get our houses repaired.

Yes it one year but my house is still in the same shape it was as last year after the storm. It is still gutted and waiting. Bet next year will be no different. New Orleans is still trying to recover and they did not have a tenth of the homes destroyed as NJ and NY did.

Sorry just venting!

That is so sad sorry to hear that. I hope and pray that with his word being said on the news that he will keep his word and remove the red tape and restrictions that is causing the delay.

Wishing you the best and stay focused.

There was a new item about the victims of Sandy and my DH was suprised you weren't all rehoused by now!
I told him of your light Yvonne and he said hearing individual stories really bought home the devastation and stress you must be under.
We both wish you well!! emoticon

I was thinking of you today when I saw all the coverage on our national news. All the showed was the Boardwalk there and a few houses. It's making the rest of the world think you're doing well. I wish they knew the truth.

We were in New Orleans this last Spring, it is still very sad, as is the costal region all up and down the gulf. I can't even image how your area is. They only show a wee bit and hardly talk to anyone, but the ones who are back in there homes or rebuilding their business again after the board walk fire.

They should be talking to people like you, so the whole world knows! If that would or could even make a difference.
What the he!! is the hold up and why and the he!! can't our government do a darn thing any more? We are truly a dysfunctional government. Good people wanting to make this country the best and a handful of elected officials caught up in tearing down instead of building up. Makes me sick!

    Vent all you want Yvonne!!!!

And then to have had that fire recently was just unreal. I don't watch tv, so haven't seen the coverage. It's just so impressive that there's been no whining by the victims of that storm. Just getting up and rebuilding.

It just saddens me that so many are in such disrepair and their lives are on hold, when there is money to fix it. It's just going to the wrong people!

Praying that next year you will have a new home.
